Rock Island Light: Pictures of the 10000 Islands

About Rock Island Light

The Rock Island Light website is a photo gallery and store for the photography of Bruce Parker. The name derives from the island located near the family cottage, adjusted to imply the nature of the site: a celebration of the visual richness of the Thousand Islands region, located in northern New York.

About Bruce Parker

Bruce can't remember a summer that didn't involve time spent in Fishers Landing, NY, on the shores of the St Lawrence river and in the midst of the Thousand Islands. Growing up, Bruce's family would leave for the river the day school got out and didn't return home until the day before school started. In adult life, work has all too often demanded that the amount of time spent at the family cottage be more brief. Nevertheless, there has always been vacations and long (never long enough) weekends spent at the river.

Bruce has over 25 years of professional photography experience in advertising and industrial photography. Clients over that time have included companies such as; Brigham and Women's Hospital, Cole Hersee, Corning Glass, Dennison Corp, Dunn and Bradstreet, Garden Way, Matthew Bender, Lojack, Onondaga Water Authority, Troy-Bilt, Welch Allen, etc.. Bruce has also taught advertising photography at the College of St. Rose in Albany, NY.
